I remember the dark night. I remember the fear. It was a woman who was dying. She came to camp for help. She was looking for a Healing. Her lungs were sick, and the Doctor had said Cancer.

Her tears were many, running down her cheeks. I could see the fear strong in her eyes. "I have money to pay for help, I don't want to die." She said. She cried and wept. As we sat and talked I could hear the sounds of death in her voice.

"Can you help?" she asked? "Please can you help?"

"You are the answer." I said. "You are the one with the Power. You are the one with the Healing Power. All I can do is comfort you. I can say that the Energy is you. You will Need no money, there is no pay for Healing work. There is no charge for a Healing. Money is not what you Need, it is belief and Faith in Healing Energy."

As we spoke I saw a sparkle across the room, on the chair by the door. I wondered what it was. As I walked to the chair I could see it was a blanket with many colors. "That is my blanket, my Granny gave it to me," she said as she coughed.

I opened the blanket. I could smell sage and sweet grass, and the smoke of the campfire. I asked her to come and let me wrap her in the blanket. She did, and then she felt very tired and wanted to sleep. So she did. She slept for many hours in the blanket. I sent her home with one of the sisters from the Healing lodge.

Time passed and her story has become a favorite one of mine. As she slept her ancestors and spirit guides came to help her she said, along with a powerful blue green light. She stayed in the blanket. She became very hot and sweat a lot. Days later she awoke and was feeling very well. She journeyed to the doctors and was told there was nothing wrong with her. She was well.

When I spoke to her, her answer was, "It was the Power of the blanket. It is a Medicine the blanket is. I believe in the Power of the Medicine Blanket, the love of my Granny." This is true all of the Healing is in the Power of your belief.
