About the Artist ... Connie Seabourn
Twenty-four of Connie Seabourn's paintings have been used as full-page, four-color reproductions in the book, plus the one shown here, featured on the cover. Both black-and-white and color borders were designed by Connie Seabourn to frame the text within the book.
To Connie Seabourn, "Watercolor is a magical medium. Its translucent nature works excellently for depicting the 'spiritual'...my primary concern in life, and the main source and inspiration for my subject matter."
She has a truly unique style, her own "look", developed through painting hundreds and hundreds of images. The essential character of her art is "layering". The actual, physical application of many layers of watercolor, as well as the conceptual layering of "soul-full", universal themes, contribute to the dream-like quality of her work. This ethereal feeling reflects the artist's intense interest in religions, spirituality, and mythology, particularly Native American myths and legends.
Connie Seabourn began winning awards while still in grade school!
