May is the 5th month in the year, and is located in the East / Spirit section of the Rainbow Medicine Wheel. This position makes May a soft month, and therefor guided by pastel colors. These pastel colors are the spirit shades of the bold colors. Bold or solid colors are Medicine energies that treat your problems or work with Lessons. Pastel or soft colors bring a closer connection into your life with Great Spirit, Grandmother/Grandfather. These pastel or soft colors are of the spiritual realm and are used by your guides or angels.

Story of the Rabbit
The winter has come to an end and the Rabbit wakes up to a warm day. "I love warm days and all the smells of Spring," the Rabbit said. "I think I will go for a walk and see all the wonders of the earth today." (Rabbits are easygoing and gentle people. They love Beauty and to visit with their friends)
As the rabbit was walking he saw a coyote coming up the road. The rabbit knew that the coyote was not going to just let him pass, so the rabbit hid in the bushes. The coyote came very close. The rabbit thought of the fact that the coyote could smell him so he quickly buried himself in the loose dirt, covering his smell. (The rabbit people are very keen witted. They make their decisions by their keen wits. They are people that it is hard to change their minds once they have made their minds up.)
After the coyote passed the rabbit decided he was tired and was going to the green grass and take a rest. As the rabbit slept he had a dream. The dream was about a great rain that was coming. He was told in the dream by Great Spirit that he needed to remove his babies and their mother so that when the rains came, they would be safe. The rabbit awoke and ran to the den to help the mother prepare for the spring storm that was coming. (The rabbit people are one who know the hidden teachings of dreamtime and have strong intuitive messages.)
As the rabbit came to the den his wife was already moving the babies. She could smell the rain and knew she had better get the babies to high ground. The rabbit told her of the coyote and they moved the rabbits on down the road further for the rabbit did not want the coyote snooping around his family. (Rabbit people are quick thinkers, and good friends to have around when there is an emergency.)
The mother rabbit gave the rabbit a kiss for his quick thinking and the care he had shown her by protecting the nest. The rabbit is one of humility and blushed as she kissed him. (All rabbit people are filled with humility and shyness. One in contact has to be careful not to break the heart of a rabbit for they are easy to hurt and carry pain in their mind for a long time.)
Rabbit's Traits
Living by one's own wits is one of the rabbit's strongest traits. The rabbit has a strong ability to receive hidden teachings and intuitive messages. With its quick thinking and humility the people born a rabbit can move through fear and help others to feel safe. By having a strengthened intuition there is not much that gets past the rabbit.
